

The Physics Computing Facility (PCF) provides research and administrative computing support for the Physics Department and related organizational units on campus and also consulting on a recharge basis for non-departmental UCSD Faculty and Staff.
We offer support on a wide range of computing services, including:
The PCF maintains a computing lab located on the third floor of Mayer Hall, Room 3421, for use by Physics graduate students, faculty and staff. Our current configuration is six Apple Mac OS X machines, eight Windows XP machines, and four Linux workstations. A variety of software is available for office productivity, image manipulation, document scanning, software development, mathematical computation and data analysis. The lab is equipped with three laser printers, two monochrome and one color, capable of printing on a variety of media.
Laptop computers and LCD projectors are available for short-term check out. Our current loan equipment includes several Apple portables, IBM ThinkPads, and Infocus portable projectors.
